A historic church may look permanent. Its future is not automatic.
St Andrew’s has stood at the heart of Broadhembury for centuries. Maintaining a Grade I listed church of this age is a considerable undertaking. There are the everyday costs of keeping the church open, insured, heated and cared for, as well as the continuing repair and conservation of the historic building itself.

The church receives no automatic government funding for its day-to-day running. We therefore rely heavily on the generosity of parishioners, visitors and friends of St Andrew’s.
There are several ways you can help:
Make a one-off gift, or setup a regular gift – remember to Gift Aid your donation if you are able.
Remember St Andrew’s in your Will.
Whether you worship here, have family connections with Broadhembury, have celebrated a wedding or baptism here, remember somebody buried in the churchyard, or simply value St Andrew’s as part of the village and its heritage, your support helps ensure that it remains here for future generations.
Giving for a specific purpose
You are very welcome to specify how you would like your gift to be used. For example, you may wish your donation or legacy to support the maintenance and repair of the church building, the churchyard, or another particular area of St Andrew’s work.
Where a gift is made for a specified purpose, the PCC will hold it as a restricted fund and it may only be used for that purpose.
Alternatively, gifts made without a restriction can be used by the PCC wherever the need is greatest.
In the event of any doubt, please contact the Parochial Church Council.
Thank you.
